Looking around for 944 insurance rates.

Cheapest I've found is 129 monthly through statefarm, anyone have any recommendations?

Are you shopping for your own policy or staying under a parent's? Another thing to look look for things like the Steer Clear Program: http://www.statefarm.com/insurance/auto… and good grade discounts (something like a 3.0)

Great first car. Mine was an 87 924S, and I was also 17 at the time.

My insurance was done through Geico, and (this was over 10 years ago now, yeeesh) it ran me about $125/month. If it's any consolation, I was curious what rates they'd give me on other cars I was interested in, and this car was surprisingly on the lower-end of the cost spectrum. You're 17 - you'll pay through the nose with insurance, that's just how it goes.

See what insurance co. your parents use. Thats what I did. I'm 22 with an Alfa and I pay ~$50/mo. They might give you a loyalty discount or something. But yah, in reference to For Sweden, good luck man. A 944 is still on my short list. Also if that's yours in the picture, great color/wheel combo.

If 125/month 10 years ago was what you had to pay, I should feel like about this $130 a month deal.

I always use progressive, they provided the best quotes for me both when I was 17 (When I bought my ninja) and when I was 19 when I renewed my insurance on the MR2. My MR2's insurance is ok, but it's still highway robbery no matter where you go. I pay 600 for 6 months.

Get on as a part time driver on your parents insurance. If you have the option, DO NOT get your own policy.

You don't make enough money to insure a 944. Thanks for the laughs.

Good luck man, when I was shopping for my first car last year I looked into 944s and couldn't find an insurance company willing to give me a decent rate. So, I found an even older car that was cheaper to insure.
